About the trail

There are steep parts on the trail. Jonstøl is the summer farm for several farms. As a general rule, the mountain farms were in use from Midsummer (24th June) until a week before Michaelmas (29th September). Jonstøl was used as a mountain farm in the traditional way until 1952. Today mainly sheep are taken up the mountainous area to graze during the summer. The farmers visit Jonstøl several times to look after their animals.
