Hardanger consists of Eidfjord, Granvin, Jondal, Kvam, Odda, Ullensvang
and Ulvik. All these municipalities border on the Hardangerfjord.
There are around 23,500 inhabitants in the region, which covers 6,300 km2.
Odda is the only community with town status. The inhabitants of Hardanger
are called 'Hardingar'. National Geographic designated Fjord Norway as the
best nature based travel destination in the world in 2004 and 2009.
